Between 2019 and 2022, we’ve recorded 9 singles. It was time to compile them into an album. which just so happens to be our 9th album. So the title had to be “Nine”.
And, I had to tell you about it in the ninth month of 2022.
And, did you know that the number nine is a “magic number“?
Listen to the tunes right here. We’ve cued up “Groove d’Hiver” (Winter Groove).
- Un Jaguar en El Agua — A danceable, horn-rich California groove inspired by the strength and beauty of the largest wild cat in the Western HemisphereInspirado en la fuerza y la belleza del gato salvaje más grande del hemisferio occidental.Inspiré par la force et la beauté du plus grand chat sauvage de l’hémisphère occidental.
- Dead Air — When you finally leave for good. Sing along to this rock/pop tune with vintage dub stylings.
- Groove d’Hiver (Winter Groove) — A dub-infused instrumental. Chill.
- Reva’s Revelation — The tune is for all of us who come to realize parts of ourselves that we didn’t understand, or worse, thought were flaws.
- However Improbable — A confection of ska, border polka, country, dance, brass band. This is a perfect example of our “Hard to Describe, Easy to Love” style.
- Blue Ska — Mags’ arrangement of a ska classic from Jamaica circa 1960 by J. Willacey.
- Surely, Shirley — Upbeat and sweet. A love song. Will Shirley ever notice Sam? Will they fall in love?
- All in A Day — The Mad Maggies show off their polka chops in this original tune. Crank it up, grab a partner and dance around the house with wild abandon!
- Within the Wyrd — A cool groove with shades of first wave ska. Danceable. Retro feel.
