Death here, taking over for Mags because she’s busy writing and arranging music and, honestly this is MY time of the year.
I appreciate the attention so many give to “the other side”. It is my life’s work, so to speak. But such the odd euphemism humans use. How can a state of non-being have a side?
But anyhoo, boo, honouring the dead makes for lovely seasonal traditions of which I wholeheartedly ( if I had a heart ) approve.
The Mexican “Dia de los Muertos” is one of my favs. Three days of celebrating the dead. Fabulous!
Enjoy and share the Mad Ms video “Un Jaguar en el Aqua” at your festivities. The whimsical Mexico-inspired calacas were drawn by Dale Horstman. The Mad Ms rock, as usual. The story doesn’t shy from my function in Nature which is refreshing.
The Celts celebrate this time of year a bit differently – more spooky. I’d say. Goblins and ghosts, fairies and bon fires.
Oíche Shamhna ( ee-ha how-na ) means the eve of November and it marks the start of the new year, falling roughly halfway between the autumnal equinox and the winter solstice.
No matter how you celebrate Me during this wonderful time of year, Mags and I wish you happy days…on this side.
yours eventually,
Death
