Our sixth album is almost here!
On our travels this past year we have been recording our shows. SepTIMus brought along his portable Olympus recorder and grabbed as much audio whenever he could. Sometimes the recorder was sitting wherever we could find a spot for it. Other times we had the luxury of getting a sound board mix. This is a true “field recording” of us in action.
Ian spent hours combing through the material and gleaned 8 tracks of live Mad Maggieness from the shows in Washington, Oregon and Nebraska. He edited and mixed them at his home studio. We then turned the tracks over to Wally at Wally Sound to master.
Right now the project is at DVDCopyCat in San Francisco getting duplicated and printed. I chose DVDCopyCat because it is a local SF business and because they get rave reviews for their customer service. (I’ve simply had it with surly customer support and the “push one, push three, hit pound, this call is being recorded for quality control purposes” rigamarole.)
The tracks are from Johnny B’s in Medford, Oregon, the Upstage in Port Townsend and the Omaha Summer Arts Festival in, you guessed it, Omaha, Nebraska.
We should have discs in about 10 days in time for our August shows. And as soon as we get them I will put them online in our music shop for you to hear.
Meanwhile here is a sneek peak of the cover.
So exciting!
